Every year, a large number of animals go missing from their owners. Many get lost, some get injured, and some are stolen or abducted. If your animal is ID-marked, you increase the likelihood of getting your animal home again, should it unfortunately go missing. If the animal is injured, a veterinarian will be able to contact you and offer veterinary assistance more quickly.
Scanning
To read the microchip, you will need a scanner. These can be found at all veterinarians, all Animal Protection Norway local branches, the police, and some security companies.
Search the database
If you have an ID number, you can search for the owner in DyreID’s database here.
