Norwegian Society for Protection of Animals has a large number of foster homes

Foster homes enable us to help even more animals and, crucially, provide tailored assistance to those who need it.

From Foster Home to a Forever Home

Some foster homes take in healthy, tame animals, while others work with sick or injured animals. We also have foster homes for shy animals that require extra socialization. In all cases, except for wild animals, the goal is to prepare the animal for adoption into a forever home.

To be a foster home, one must have a stable and safe home. You must also have the time and desire to care for the animal. Some animals also require closer follow-up through socialization. A foster home coordinator will support you and discuss the animal’s needs and progress.

A Wonderful Opportunity to Help an Animal

Being a foster home is a wonderful opportunity to help an animal. You get all the joys of having a pet, but none of the costs. Animal Protection Norway covers all expenses related to food, equipment, and veterinary care. All you need to do is give your time and love.

Although being a foster home involves a fair amount of work, it is well worth it when you see how the animal thrives in its new surroundings. The ultimate reward, of course, is seeing the animal move into its new home.
