Bring the animal to a veterinarian if possible. Veterinarians are obliged to help injured animals, including wild animals.
For injured large game, you can contact the wildlife committee in your municipality by calling the police at 02 800.
For injured birds, you can contact Fuglevakta at BirdLife Norge (formerly the Norwegian Ornithological Society) on their 24-hour phone line 901 22 901.
Larger birds such as swans, geese, and similar fall under the category of “injured wildlife”, and the wildlife committee should then be contacted via 02800.
For injured hedgehogs, you can contact Pinnsvinhjelpen at 92 28 00 21.
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority (Mattilsynet) is the public supervisory body for animals and animal husbandry, and is obliged to investigate tips about animal cruelty. If you suspect animal cruelty, you can submit a concern report via the Mattilsynet website. If it is urgent, you can call 22 40 00 00. Remember to anonymize yourself if you do not wish to provide your name.
In acute and serious animal welfare cases, if you cannot reach the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, you can call the police at 02 800.
For disturbances of public order, such as dogs barking over time, animals causing nuisance, and similar, you can contact the police at 02 800.
Animal welfare cases are often deprioritized; therefore, attempt to secure evidence such as photos, videos, and witnesses. Some cases are dismissed or inadequately handled by public authorities. Please send an email to Animal Protection Norway with a description of the case and keep us updated on any developments, so that we can verify whether the animals in question have received sufficient assistance.
Be proactive: Report your suspicion and request that the Norwegian Food Safety Authority investigate the matter, even if you are not certain that animal cruelty is occurring. You can submit a concern report or call 22 40 00 00.
Animal cruelty can, for example, include:
– Animals not receiving food, water, or adequate care
– Pets standing in mud or without shelter
– Individuals kicking or hitting animals, or showing aggression towards animals.
First, check if the animal already has a family. Look for an ID number tattooed in the ear or a microchip in the neck. Scanners to read microchips can be found at:
– Veterinary clinics
– Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge’s local branches
– Police 02 800
– Some security services (inquire)
If you have access to a scanner yourself, you can look up the ID number in the DyreID register to get contact information for the animal’s family.
Also, check for any found/missing ads on dyrebar.no and other animal groups on Facebook.
If the animal does not have any form of identification, contact the nearest local branch of Animal Protection Norway. Please remember that the local branches are run by volunteers, and telephone hours may therefore vary. Refer to the individual local branch’s website for further contact information.
Contact the police at 02800 regarding the dog’s whereabouts. If possible, try to catch the dog. Contact Nitrogruppa or other animal groups on Facebook.
Animal Protection Norway normally does not have the capacity to assist with the rehoming of animals that already live with a family. We must prioritize animals in acute need of help, such as homeless or abused animals. Please attempt to rehome the animal through animal groups on Facebook or finn.no.
If you still wish to inquire about the possibilities for rehoming assistance, you can contact your nearest local branch. Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge’s head office does not rehome animals.

Vi er ikke en klinikk for de som syntes det generelt er dyrt med veterinær, men som kan prioritere det.
Vi er ikke en klinikk for de som har forsikring på sitt dyr, eller som har brukt sin forsikringspremie.
Vi legger ikke til rette for avl, og tar ikke imot valpekull. Står du allikevel i en vanskelig situasjon (tjuvparring el. lign.) ta kontakt for vurdering.
Vi tilbyr ikke hd/ad røntgen, med mindre sykdom mistenkes etter konsultasjon.
Vi utfører ikke komplisert kirurgi og ortopediske inngrep. Spør om du er usikker.
Vi anbefaler årlig vaksinering andre steder enn hos oss. Her finnes det allerede rimelige tilbud, med god oppfølging.
Vi tilbyr ikke reisevaksiner eller attestering i pass for dyr.
Vi tilbyr ikke separat kremering.

Viktig informasjon til dyreeiere
Vi på Lisaklinikken ønsker å hjelpe så mange som mulig, og alle dyr som kommer til oss blir møtt med omsorg og profesjonell behandling.
Samtidig er vi nødt til å informere om at vi dessverre ikke har kapasitet til å gi fast oppfølging av kronisk syke dyr. Klinikken drives av Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge og alle midler til drift må samles inn. Vi har begrensede ressurser, og vi må derfor prioritere akutte behov.
Det betyr at vi tilbyr innledende utredning og god engangsbehandling av syke dyr som trenger øyeblikkelig hjelp, men videre oppfølging må skje hos en fast veterinær.
Vi vet at dette kan være vanskelig, men vi håper på forståelse for at vi må bruke ressursene våre slik at flest mulig dyr kan få hjelp.
